How to prepare for the ISO  9001 & ISO  14001 Revisions

What you need to know, and when

If you're feeling nervous about the upcoming changes to ISO 9001 and ISO  14001, you're not alone. But rest assured — these updates are manageable, well-signalled, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Key timelines at a glance

  • ISO 14001 is expected to be published in January 2026

  • ISO 9001 is expected in September 2026

…however, this could change so watch this space

Deadlines to transition:

  • Organisations will have 3 years to transition to the new versions of the standards, so right now we’re expecting January 2029 (ISO 14001) and September 2029 (ISO 9001)

  • However, we will be transitioning our clients well before the deadlines, making it as smooth and easy as possible

  • Most certification bodies will probably mandate extra time for transition assessments
