Introduction to Emotional Intelligence

This course explores the theory of emotional intelligence and its relevance in the workplace. Delegates will increase their awareness of personal triggers and learn practical tools and techniques to manage these triggers—helping prevent emotions from hijacking their behaviour and enhancing their personal impact at work.

Course objectives:

  • Explain what emotional intelligence is and why it is important

  • Identify personal triggers and strategies to manage these

  • Describe empathy and how this can be used to build effective relationships

  • Create an action plan of how you will apply your knowledge and continue to build your skills in the workplace

Duration:

4 hours. This course requires a small amount of pre-work to be completed by delegates.
