Practical Assertiveness Skills
Overview
Assertiveness skills are key to boosting your confidence and effectiveness in a variety of situations. This course helps you understand why assertiveness matters, when to use it, and how to express yourself clearly—strengthening your self-esteem and communication skills.
Course objectives:
- Describe the benefits of being assertive 
- Identify the differences, consequences, characteristics and language of non-assertive behaviours 
- Explore different assertiveness strategies 
- Recognise the different ‘ego state’ modes to manage situations more effectively 
- Practise having assertive conversations 
- Create a development action plan of commitment to apply these skills in the workplace. 
Duration:
4 hours. This course requires a small amount of pre-work to be completed by delegates.
